College Admissions Consultation
College Admissions Consultation
$150.00
Description
Presented above are the eye popping statistics for gaining admission to the University of Georgia, a public university. Most high school students are provided with very little, if any, college planning guidance prior to submitting college and scholarship applications and have tragically little understanding of their chances of being offered admission to top colleges or being offered the scholarship money to pay for college.
Our college admission consultation is a 1.5 hour virtual meeting with a student and his/her family to discuss the following:
- The student’s educational and career aspirations
- Family’s financial need
However, prior to this meeting, we request the following documents:
- Desired colleges or scholarship programs
- Desired college major
- Geographical boundaries (i.e., how far a student is willing to travel to attend college)
- Copy of student’s high school transcript
- Copy of student’s résumé
- Copy of test scores (e.g., AP exams, SAT, ACT)
While a meeting can be schedule prior to our receiving these documents, our goal is to be thorough with the information provided to ensure that a family’s time and money is well spent. If we are provided with these documents, we provide our candid input as to the type of colleges and scholarships to which the student matches and the potential costs associated with each opportunity. We do not use these meetings to sell any other services so the student and parents are able to ask any questions they have regarding the college admissions and financial aid processes.
If the student and parents are open to our recommendations and believe that our expertise is a good fit for the student’s college aspirations and family’s scholarship need, we can decide which of our more comprehensive programs is a fit or the student and family can schedule additional consultation meetings as the student works through the type of actions that we recommend.
Some families, based on their budget, use these sessions as college planning tutoring sessions as they choose classes, activities, leadership roles, and community service opportunities throughout high school. Other families use these sessions to supplement their reading of our various career and college planning books.
Our goal is not to break your budget, but to ensure that student’s avoid or minimize student loan debt.
