Description

Developing a career or college pathway strategy through your local schools: (1) Students are provided with a copy of How to Plan Your Career or College Pathway, outlining the 16 national career clusters. (2) We direct the student to complete a free interest profile and to write a narrative summarizing their desired career pathway and any interest(s) they have in pursuing a career pathway based on their interest profiler results. (3) We review the student’s narrative together with a review of the student’s: résumé; middle school grades or high school transcript; high school profile; PSAT, SAT, and/or ACT score reports: and career clusters offered by the student’s school or school district. (4) We host a meeting with the student and parents to discuss the student’s career aspirations, their interest profiler results, as well as the career pathways available in the student’s school or school district. (5) Based on what is shared by the student and the career or college pathways offered by the student’s school or school district, during the meeting we draft recommended actions to maximize available opportunities within the student’s school or school district, including recommended core, elective, and CTE/CTAE classes for the next school year.
